CIBC has created an art exhibit at the baggage carousel at Toronto’s Pearson Airport to show how a key element of its new brand positioning comes to life when traveling.
“Ambition Takes Flight” features the work of Canadian artists such as Jason Zante, Robyn Lightwalker and Andrew Wang. Though they are working across different mediums, all of the artists aimed to show travellers new ideas and cultures from the moment they touched down at the airport, encouraging them to explore the different possibilities that travel and ambition can offer, as well as “to view the world from different perspectives.”
CIBC worked with agency Fuse Create on the campaign. The pieces are at the international baggage claim area at Pearson’s Terminal 1.

“Travel is a top ambition for our clients and Canadians right now – whether it’s transformative and inspiring or just a chance to escape the day-to-day, and we wanted to capture that wide-ranging spirit through the eyes of some of Canada’s most talented emerging artists,” says Esther Benzie, VP of brand and advertising at CIBC.
CIBC has been a sponsor of Pearson Airport as its official financial institution since 2013, and has worked with Fuse in the past on numerous other activations throughout the airport. The idea of “ambition” has also been a key part of CIBC’s brand identity since its rebranding last year.
