Chatr Wireless is continuing to turn to the radio to get out its message of affordable mobile service, according to media monitoring data from AdEase.
The discount mobile carrier was the most active advertiser in Vancouver and in the top ten in every other major market, aside from Ottawa and Montreal. At the national level, Chatr bought the most ad spots, followed by the Toyota Dealers Association and Subway, which fell from the top spot the week prior.
In Toronto, Air Transat continues to buy the most radio spots behind its spring brand campaign, while Specsavers was at the top in Ottawa supporting its new Canadian campaign.
In Alberta, the upcoming provincial election meant that Elections Alberta was the top advertiser in Calgary and the second most-active in Edmonton. Both the United Conservative Party and NDP were among the top ten in Calgary. Meanwhile, in Edmonton, the Government of Alberta was the most active with a series of safety messages targeted to families evacuated due to recent nearby wildfires.
Grocery stores made a major push, being the most active advertiser category in most markets, in addition to pushing QSRs out of the top spot nationally.
