Dairy Queen prioritized TV ads ahead of a key summer occassion, according to AdEase data for June 12 to 18.
The chain made a major TV push behind ads promoting its ice cream cakes as an option for Father’s Day.
Dairy Queen was still, however, significantly behind McDonald’s in terms of total spots, with the QSR staying at the top across markets for another week. In addition to continuing to advertise its summer drink specials, the QSR also began new TV campaigns for its McWraps and breakfast menu.
Tide, Crave, Subaru and Downy were among the brands that maintained their TV presences from recent weeks, staying in the top ten across several markets.
Between McDonald’s and Dairy Queen, as well as significant buys from A&W, Subway and Burger King, QSRs were once again the most active advertiser category by a significant margin.
