Teads builds in carbon emissions reporting

The new built-in tool for its ad manager reports emissions and enables targeting of low-emission content providers.

Hands pointing to a laptop screenGlobal media platform Teads has introduced new built-in carbon emissions reporting into its ad manager.

This latest offering from Teads is now integrated into its cookieless platform to give advertisers and agencies a complete understanding of the emissions generated by their connected TV (CTV) and omnichannel campaigns, along with comparison to global benchmarks. The tool uses Scope3, a platform and database that tracks the advertising industry’s carbon footprint.

In addition to reporting carbon emission, advertisers can target their campaigns by choosing low-emission properties. Within Teads Ad Manager, emissions monitoring is now available across four sources: Media Distribution, which measures emissions associated with the delivery of media content; Ad Selection, which reports total emissions of the advertising parties involved to select an ad; Creative Distribution, which evaluates associated emissions; and Consumer Device, which reports emissions associated with the consumer’s mobile, desktop or TV.

Teads is a cloud-based omnichannel platform offering premium inventory that yields a 35% average reduction in ad selection emissions, according to a November 2023 emissions evaluation by Scope3 across 2.5 billion global impressions.
