The latest AdEase TV report shows McDonald’s returning to the top spot as the most active advertiser for the week of Jan. 1 to 7.

The QSR ranked first in almost all cities, including Vancouver, where it upped its TV buy after finishing third the week prior. It recorded 4,134 combined occurrences, while the previous week had 2,003 in total.

The Brick, which dominated from Dec. 25 to 31, remained one of the most active advertisers. With 3,124 combined occurrences, the retailer placed second in Vancouver and first in Calgary, while it came in fifth place in Toronto.

One of the biggest movers of the week was Doordash. The mobile ordering platform returned to the top 10 most active advertisers, after a short gap since its appearance at the beginning of December. It climbed 76 and 58 positions to rank third in Toronto and Vancouver, respectively. It also finished third in Calgary, moving up 38 positions.

Lysol also stands out as one of the biggest movers – it jumped 401 positions to enter the top 10 in Vancouver, and 308 positions to place seventh in Calgary.

Nationally on speciality, Crave TV continues to lead the AdEase list with 3,827 combined occurrences.
