Monday Moves: New chief commercial officer at The Trade Desk, and more

MiQ, Spark Foundry and The Globe and Mail are also promoting and adding to their management teams.

The Trade Desk

The digital marketing company The Trade Desk is restructuring its leadership team.

The company’s chief revenue officer Tim Sims (pictured, on left) has been promoted to chief commercial officer. In his new role, Sims will be responsible for the client services and the inventory teams. He has more than 20 years of advertising experience, including six years at The Trade Desk. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, he was director of business development at programmatic platform OpenX and director of media at ad tech company Spot Runner.

To fill the outgoing chief revenue officer position, The Trade Desk has also tapped its chief client officer, Jed Dederick (pictured, on right), who has been with the company for more than 12 years. As CRO, Dederick will be responsible for driving revenue across the organization. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, he served in digital sales and client services roles at The Wall Street Journal and WebMD.

MiQ 

Programmatic media company MiQ has promoted its trading director Kristina Kacanski to VP of trading.

Kacanski has been with MiQ for over five years. During her time at the company, she has held senior positions such as associate trading director and group trader manager. She formerly worked as a programmatic specialist at agency Publicitas AG, where she managed digital campaigns for a variety of customers in Canada and the U.S.

In other MiQ moves, the company has appointed its account executive Liam Miller as account manager. Before MiQ, Miller worked as a digital marketing coordinator for Communitech, a company that assists Canadian tech startup owners in launching and growing their firms. MiQ has also elevated Rosie C. to senior trader. She joined the company as an associate trader in 2019 and was promoted to trader two years later.

Spark Foundry 

Marketing professional Dylan Montcalm has been elevated to group account director at media agency Spark Foundry.

Montcalm, Spark’s account director for the past two years, brings over ten years of experience in paid media strategy. He has held senior positions at Adobe, Carat and Cossette Media and has worked on campaigns for Coca Cola, Toyota and Telus.

The Globe and Mail

Nikhita Kujur, The Globe and Mail’s digital subscription acquisition lead, will now serve as the company’s head of digital acquisition.

In her new position, Kujur will be in charge of building the digital subscription business through acquisitions. She spent more than 10 years with Rogers Communications before joining The Globe and Mail. Her last position there was marketing manager.
