According to the most recent AdEase data, McDonald’s remained the TV market leader for the week of Jan. 15 to 21.
The QSR recorded 3,356 combined occurrences and ranked first in all markets except Montreal, where it finished second. The restaurant chain has been at the top of the charts for two weeks in a row, following a brief gap between the last week of December and the first week of January. It recorded a total of 3,715 occurrences the previous week.
CraveTV followed with 2,152 combined occurrences. The streaming service moved up two slots to fourth in Vancouver, and climbed five spots to ninth in Calgary. It also rose one position in Montreal, where it ended up first. Nationally, it continued to dominate the market with 3,376 occurrences, 166 more than the week prior.
Other advertisers that remained in the ranking include Doordash (1,610 combined occurrences) and Tim Hortons (1,331 combined occurrences).
On the category side, quick serve restaurants and TV and streaming services were the highest-spending groups. Tourism boards increased their spending significantly, rising 17 places in Toronto, as did vitamins and supplements, which climbed 24 places in Montreal.
