The Globe Alliance is now the exclusive rep for CNN in Canada

Millions of Canadians read CNN. Now, local brand marketers can reach them.

CNN has joined Globe Alliance, Globe Media Group’s digital network of popular news, business, and lifestyle sites.

The inclusion of CNN means that Canadian marketers will “gain access to CNN’s extensive audience of educated and influential Canadians across various business sectors,” per Globe Media Group’s statement.

Globe Media Group will serve as the exclusive representative for CNN, working with Canadian advertisers. Through them, marketers will be able to reach Canadians across several verticals, including CNN Style, CNN Business, CNN Travel, and CNN Health. In terms of numbers, CNN reaches nearly nine million unique visitors per month. As for the Globe Alliance, its network reaches a total of 20.5 million unique visitors monthly.

“Becoming part of Globe Alliance is an exciting prospect for both CNN and the Canadian market. Working with the Globe and Mail, we will open up new opportunities for advertisers to reach our Canadian audiences and be aligned with premium content on our unique digital properties,” says Rob Bradley, senior vice president, CNN International Commercial.

Other members of the Globe Alliance include news sites like Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian and The Atlantic, along with lifestyle destinations like Esquire, Cosmopolitan, and ESPN.

As if to get ready for their new partner, Globe Media Group’s website recently had some very tasteful work done. Most importantly, the website features the brand’s new positioning: “Where ambition meets influence.”

“As we take the next step forward in Globe Media Group’s brand evolution, our refreshed visual identity comes to life through the launch of Globemediagroup.ca,” says Marcin Zerek, head of trade marketing, The Globe and Mail. “We’re excited to support advertisers using our new platform to help show them how to amplify and resonate their brand stories in the ever-evolving media landscape.”
