McDonald’s dominated the airwaves for the week of  Jan. 29 to Feb. 4, according to the latest AdEase report.

The QSR scored a total of 5,953 occurrences, 135 more than the week prior. The company took top place in Vancouver, but finished third in Ottawa, fourth in Montreal, sixth in Edmonton and ninth in Calgary, Toronto and Quebec.

It was followed by the Government of Canada, with 5,121 total occurrences, and Subway, with 4,217. The fast-food restaurant returned to the top 10 last week, having being gone since the second week of December.

Spence Diamonds, one of the most active advertisers in January, ranked behind Subway with a total of 3,505 occurrences. The Government of Quebec followed, with a total of 2,943 occurrences.

Among the week’s big movers were MSC Cruises, which climbed 298 places to tenth in Vancouver, and Desjardins Group, which rose 365 spots to finish first in Ottawa.
