Spence Diamonds has taken the top spot from McDonald’s on the AdEase charts for the week of Feb. 5 to 11, according to the monitoring company’s recent report.

The jeweller was the most active advertiser, with 6,914 combined occurrences. It ranked first in Edmonton, while it came in second in Vancouver and Calgary, third in Ottawa and fifth in Toronto. Just behind it is Subway Restaurants with 5,229 total occurrences. The QSR dropped one position in Vancouver and Edmonton from the previous week, but continues to invest strongly in Toronto (1,263 occurrences) and Montreal (854 occurrences).

Scotiabank placed third with 3,496 total occurrences, followed by McDonald’s with 3,287. The restaurant chain, which recorded 2,666 fewer occurrences than the week prior, continues to dominate the Vancouver market. Desjardins Group closed the week’s top five overall, with 3,158 occurrences.

On the category front, the exhibitions group was one of the biggest movers on the list, climbing 27 positions to finish ninth in Edmonton. Additionally, online casinos moved up 24 places to rank sixth in Montreal, and government agencies rose 21 places to finish eighth in Quebec City.
