The latest AdEase report shows that McDonald’s dominated the radio for the week of Feb. 19 to 25.
The QSR returns to the top of the AdEase charts with 7,607 combined occurrences, up from 2,276 total occurrences the previous week. It came first in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, third in Ottawa, fourth in Montreal and ninth in Toronto and Quebec. Subway Restaurants, the most active advertiser the week prior, did not make the top 10 this time.
Following McDonald’s is Toyota, with 5,726 total occurrences. The automaker ranked second in Calgary and Quebec, third in Edmonton, fifth in Ottawa, sixth in Toronto, seventh in Montreal and eighth in Vancouver. The company has been buying big on radio: last week it scored 4,888 combined occurrences and finished first in Calgary.
Other dealerships also remained in the top 10 on AdEase charts, including Nissan, (2,924 occurrences), Subaru (1,854 occurrences), and Honda (850 occurrences). Hyundai joined the list this week with 798 occurrences, placing ninth in Montreal.
In terms of categories, automotive imports general was one of the biggest movers, rising 21 places in Montreal, 23 in Quebec and one in Ottawa. Eyewear and optical stores also moved up significantly: 152 places to sixth in Vancouver and 23 places to eighth in Ottawa.
