Cineplex Digital Media inks deal to extend reach in Montreal

Cominar has tapped CDM to develop and manage digital signage for five of its properties.

Cominar, a real estate investment trust and management company, has selected Cineplex Digital Media (CDM) to develop, install, and maintain a state-of-the-art digital signage network in five of its shopping centres in Quebec.

The partnership will see CDM operate a network of over 40 digital displays in five Cominar-owned and managed retail properties in Montreal, Laval, Brossard, and Repentigny.

According to CDM, each property will receive a custom display solution consisting of large double-sided portrait screens. But the media company is reserving something special for Alexis Nihon, one of Montreal’s busiest shopping centres. It will be receiving one of the largest in-mall large-format LED spectaculars in Canada.

“The addition of Cominar’s shopping centres will increase our reach across the greater Montreal area,” explains Fab Stanghieri, executive VP and managing director, media, Cineplex. “And it will also grow our out of home shopping network to 94 premium shopping centres across Canada, including nine of the top ten busiest malls in Canada.”

The new additions to Cineplex’s signage family grows its reach to 117 million in the greater Montreal area, and to over 750 million across the country. Indoor advertising sales will be exclusively managed by Cineplex’s media sales division, Cineplex Media.
