Bell Media kicks off spring with the premiere of the second season of Farm to Fork, a food series centred on the Waterloo region that airs onĀ Fibe TV’s channel TV1.
The six-part series follows Waterloo region celebrity chef and culinary entrepreneur Nick Benninger as he visits six of the region’s farms. The second season will showcase the community of artisan farmers, including Canada’s only crab apple farm. In each episode, Benninger will explore the background and story of the farmers and offer viewers a glimpse into their daily lives.
“Farm to Fork is a timely and important exploration of the growing worldwide movement towards sustainable and ethical food production,” series director Julian Wierzbicki tells MiC. “In an era where consumers are increasingly dismayed and mistrust industrial food production and its impact on the environment, the series offers an alternate narrative that resonates with viewers on multiple levels – it’s healthier, it’s environmentally conscious, it’s supportive of the local economy and it tastes better. So Farm to Fork offers advertisers an opportunity to align with a really fun show with an important message.”
Bell launched the first season of the series in May of last year. The show garnered about 100,000 views in 2023, and ranked among the most watched regional programs of the year, according to the company. Bell offers space within the production – that is arranged prior to season delivery. They are currently actively seeking advertisers for the third season of the show.
“Bell has a mandate to support regional programming. We pitched several ideas and Farm to Fork resonated most. Because of the rich soil, agricultural history and diversity and proximity to large urban centres it’s uniquely positioned as a farm to fork destination,” Wierzbicki says.
