Here are the winners of Canada’s Young Lions 2024

Each Gold-winning team in the Canadian contest will compete in The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity that runs from June 17 to 21.

The Globe and Mail has revealed the winners of this year’s Canadian Young Lions competition. This year, teams from John St., Rethink, Courage, McDonald’s, Brizi and Cossette Media will represent Canada in the global contest at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June.

Modeled after the Cannes competition, the Canadian Young Lions entrants received a brief on the weekend of March 2, and were asked to complete the challenge within a 24- or 48-hour time period.

The competition jury chairs select a non-profit organization to be the subject of its competition briefs each year. This year, Toronto-based food rescue non-profit Second Harvest was chosen, with the primary goal to drive awareness and persuade people to help prevent food waste.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity runs from June 17 to 21. Each Gold-winning team in the Canadian contest win a prize that includes registration fees for the global competition, as well as delegate passes to the festival, flights and accommodations.

Competition entries were judged by a panel of industry experts, led by Mary Maddever, EVP, Canadian media brands and editorial director for Brunico Communications (Media in Canada’s parent company) for the Print, Film and Digital categories, Kruger Products CMO Susan Irving in the Marketers category, and OMD Canada CEO Cathy Collier in the Media category.

The winners were announced at the CMDC Media Summit on Wednesday. The winning work can be viewed on the Young Lions Competition webpage. The winning entries are highlighted below.
