McDonald’s returns to the top of the AdEase radio charts after a long absence since its last appearance during the week of Feb. 26 to March 3.
According to the latest report from the monitoring firm, the QSR increased its ad spending and notched up 7,575 combined occurrences between April 29 and May 05. The restaurant chain ranked first in Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa, third in Edmonton, fourth in Quebec, fifth in Calgary and sixth in Montreal. The prior week, the company made 2,534 total occurrences, appearing only in the Ottawa and Toronto rankings.
Just behind was Tim Hortons, with 7,034 combined occurrences, 1,191 more than the previous week when it came in as the fourth most active advertiser. Subway ranked third with 5,843 occurrences, followed by Rogers with 4,611 and IKEA with 3,726.
Among the week’s big movers were Virgin Plus, which climbed 370 places to tenth in Vancouver and 381 positions to second in Montreal; The Brick, which rose 188 places to seventh in Edmonton; and Salon Auto Sport, which went up 102 spots to eighth in Quebec.
QSRs; furniture stores; dine-in restaurants and bars; heating and cooling services; and jewelry stores were among the highest spending groups during the week.
