Meta enhances Gen AI with full image and text generation

The new AI features are expected to be available globally by the end of the year.

Meta has launched enhanced generative AI features for advertisers, such as full image and text generation, and is introducing additional tools and services for businesses. The new features have been built to help advertisers develop ad creative variations and automate certain parts of the ad creation process. For example, brands can now create full image variations of their original ad creative along with text overlay capabilities and the ability to generate new backgrounds around product images and expand images to better fit multiple surfaces. In the coming months, advertisers will be able to provide text prompts to help Meta tailor the creative variations offered.

To apply text overlay to images, there are a dozen of the most popular typeface options to choose from. The image expansion feature allows an advertiser to seamlessly adjust creative assets to fit different aspect ratios across multiple surfaces. This feature is now available on Reels and Feed across both Instagram and Facebook, and works seamlessly with text overlays in ads.

The text generation feature creates variations for an ad headline and the primary text. Meta is currently testing the ability for the generated text to reflect a brand’s voice and tone, by highlighting key selling points based on previous campaigns and text input.

These updated generative AI features are expected to be available globally by the end of the year. Initially text generation and text overlay will only be available in the English language. The updated generative AI features and creative enhancements will be available in Ads Manager through Advantage+ creative.
