Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) and Mediapro have settled their legal dispute and have agreed to part ways effective the end of this year. Until then, Mediapro, a global producer of soccer content based in Barcelona, will act as a production and technical services provider for the OneSoccer streaming service. Mediapro has also transferred its OneSoccer properties and rights to Timeless, owner of OneSoccer.
CSB was established in 2018 as the marketing entity for the Canadian Premier League (CPL) and Canada Soccer properties to handle commercial assets, broadcast and sponsorship deals. It inked a 10-year partnership agreement with Mediapro in 2019 to broadcast CPL and national team matches on OneSoccer.
Legal filings early this year asked for the dissolution of the agreement, both parties citing the other’s failure to meet the terms of the deal. CSB is now searching for other broadcast partners.
