Announcing the Media Innovation Awards jurors

The panel will determine the winners for the 2024 competition, which includes new media collab and innovation categories.

The Media Innovation Awards have announced the 13 jurors for the 2024 competition, a panel of industry execs that will be led by co-chairs Cathy Collier, CEO of OMD, and Armin Huska, head of media and agency management at RBC.

• Shelley Smit, CEO, IPG Mediabrands
• Robert Jenkyn, president, Horizon Media
• Liz Lem, SVP, client experience, Havas Media
• Monique Brosseau, president, GroupM
• Jennifer Lewis, chief client officer, Carat
• Alastair Taylor, CEO, Publicis Media
• Wes Wolch, senior vice president marketing, Holt Renfrew
• Daniel Gotlib, VP, marketing & strategy, Kraft Heinz

The awards program also introduced several category changes this year, including the addition of Best Use of Local Media within the Best Use of Media category, which highlights the use of local media channels to reach a specific geographic audience.

The new Media Agency Innovation category – which is only open to standalone media agencies – will showcase innovative thinking and evolving strengths at media agencies across Canada, focusing on new skills and practices, as well as emerging talent.

And lastly, the new Media Collaboration: Best Partnering category will recognize the media partners that stretch beyond the expected to create new custom opportunities and capabilities.

Entries for the MIAs are open, with the early bird deadline of July 5. Winners will be announced at an awards gala at the end of November. More information can be found on the Media Innovation Awards website.
