The Brick was the most active advertiser on TV during the week of July 1 to 7, according to the latest report from monitoring firm AdEase.
The retailer notched up 2,571 combined occurrences, airing the most in Calgary (932 occurrences). In addition to Calgary, it ranked among the top 10 most active marketers in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.
McDonald’s recorded 2,502 combined occurrences in the week, finishing second in Vancouver and Montreal, third in Toronto and fourth in Calgary. It was followed by Leon’s Furniture, with 2,361 occurrences, Trivago, with 2,032 occurrences, and Wendy’s Restaurant, with 1,743. Nationally on specialty TV, Wendy’s was also the most active advertiser with 3,045 occurrences.
On the creative front, The Brick placed first in the ranking of top spots in Calgary, with an ad highlighting its “Appliance super sale” promo (pictured). Tim Hortons’ spot about the return of its Retro Donuts was the most aired in Vancouver, while Trivago’s commercial on the app’s ability to compare different prices in one place put the company in first place in Toronto. Crave TV led the way in Montreal with a promotional video for the film Ru, which premiered on the streamer in June and chronicles the journey of a family from Vietnam that migrates to Quebec.
