The Last Timbit is leaping from stage to screen.
In June, Tim Hortons, in partnership with agency Gut and Come From Away producer Michael Rubinoff, staged a musical about a group of strangers stranded at a Tim Hortons location during a blizzard. Now, those who missed the limited engagement at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto will have a chance to watch the show on Crave.
An 80-minute filmed special of the coffee franchise’s musical The Last Timbit, will debut on Crave on Aug. 12.
“It was such a thrill to see ‘The Last Timbit’ come to life in front of delighted audiences in Toronto and it was always our wish that we could share this special production with Canadians from coast to coast to coast,” said Hope Bagozzi, chief marketing officer for Tim Hortons.
The special is produced by Bell Media Studios, with Emmanuel Groneveldt and Claudia Abate producing. The musical is produced by Tim Hortons and Come From Away producer Michael Rubinoff. Music and lyrics were written by Anika Johnson and Britta Johnson, with the book penned by Nick Green.
The Aug. 12 launch will be supported by a wide-ranging promotion campaign via ads on Crave, as well as other digital, linear and audio platforms.
