Corus Entertainment has revealed its fall programming line-up, announcing titles that will air on its channels including HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada and The History Channel.
The company’s new series include House of Ali (HGTV Canada), which follows a luxury designer and her team as they take on epic builds and big-budget renovations across North America; Repossessed (The History Channel), about a team of experts dedicated to paranormal research who travel across North America in search of haunted objects; and Yukon Rescue (The History Channel), which features emergency response teams as they work to keep northern Canadian communities safe.
Corus also announced returning series with new episodes on HGTV Canada likeĀ Rock Solid Builds (season 3), about tough renovations amid Newfoundland’s harsh climate and rugged terrain; Farmhouse Facelift (season 3), which follows brother-sister duo Billy Pearson and Carolyn Wilbrink as they modernize older properties; Gut Job (season 2), starring renovation celebrity Sebastian Clovis, who transforms properties into dream homes; Don’t Hate Your House (season 2), which features the Scott brothers helping homeowners renovate to deal with challenges they face in their homes; and Hoarder House Flippers (season 2, pictured); about resellers across Canada who buy, clean and refurbish abandoned homes.
Food Network Canada’s programming will feature new seasons of culinary competition staple Top Chef Canada (season 11); and The Big Bake: Holiday (season 4), about a group of pastry teams that design, bake and decorate a large-scale cake creation, based on a holiday theme.
Meanwhile, The History Channel will premiere new episodes of Deadman’s Curse (season 2), about a team that goes gold-digging in the depths of the Pacific Northwest; and Rust Valley Restorers (season 5), about three car fanatics who restore a collection of decaying classic cars.
The announcement comes after Corus said last month that it is undergoing more layoffs, as well as ceasing operations for its OWN specialty channel and two AM radio studios, as part of recent cost reduction efforts. The broadcaster reported a 16% decrease in consolidated revenue for Q3, falling to $331.8 million from $397.3 million in Q3 2023. In terms of programming, the company cancelled Big Brother Canada series after 12 seasons in June.
