Rogers tees up with the Presidents Cup

The company is the official telecommunications partner of the tournament, which returns to Canada after 17 years.

Rogers has signed on to be the official telecommunications partner for the 2024 Presidents Cup golf tournament, as the event returns to Canada for the first time in 17 years.

The Presidents Cup is a series of men’s golf matches between a team representing the United States and an international team comprised of players from the rest of the world minus Europe. (Europe competes against the United States in the Ryder Cup, which is similar only older.)

“This partnership builds on our commitment to growing the game in Canada, and building strong communities in Quebec,” said Terrie Tweddle, Rogers’ chief brand and communications officer.

The telecommunications giant already sponsors PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions events like the Rogers Charity Classic in Calgary. The telco also sponsors Team Rogers athletes, including Mike Weir.

“[Rogers’s] commitment to growing golf in Canada is undeniable,” adds executive director Ryan Hart. “Rogers has a creative approach to sponsorship, and we can’t wait for fans to experience all they plan to offer this September at the Presidents Cup.”

As part of the sponsorship, Rogers has special rewards for its customers. As part of its new national program, Rogers Beyond the Seat, they can access VIP experiences at the tournament, including first tee suite tickets.

In the Fan Zone, Rogers will offer various golf-themed experiences, including a putting green, a golf simulation game, and a 360-degree snapshot that provides a video sent directly to your smartphones for social sharing. There will also be a photo booth where visitors can get their pictures taken with the Presidents Cup trophy.
