Rogers Communications was the most active advertiser on radio during the week of Aug. 12 to 18, according to the latest AdEase report.

With 6,673 combined occurrences, Rogers ranked first in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto, and fourth in Ottawa. The company was also the most active advertiser the previous week, from Aug. 5 to 11, with 6,444 appearances.

Toyota dealers increased their spend compared to the previous week, with 5,937 incidents, as did Volkswagen, which recorded 5,001 total occurrences. Uber also increased its buy, making 4,844 ocurrences, while McDonald’s increased its purchase to 4,608. The week before, the QSR made 5,583 occurrences.

Among the week’s big movers were some automakers, including Chevrolet, which jumped 11 spots to eighth in Calgary, Nissan, which moved up 30 positions to second in Ottawa, and Volvo, which climbed 21 spots in Quebec.

On the category side, the groups that moved the most on the AdEase list were food delivery services, up 20 positions in Vancouver and 66 positions in Toronto, and pharmacies and drug stores, which rose 44 in Calgary and 41 in Edmonton. The highest-spending groups continued to be QSRs, internet services and furniture stores.
