The latest AdEase report shows that Toyota dealers was the most active advertiser during the week of Aug. 19 to 25.
The automaker totaled 6,189 combined occurrences, finishing first in Calgary and Quebec, second in Vancouver and Edmonton, fourth in Edmonton, sixth in Montreal and eighth in Toronto. Compared to the previous week, from Aug. 12 to 18, the company increased its spend with 252 more occurrences.
Volkswagen dealers followed Toyota with 5,039 total occurrences, 38 more than the prior week. The company ranked in all markets except Montreal and Quebec, where its competitors, Toyota and Nissan dealers, took the lead. Sleep Country also increased its spend in the last week, making 3,912 incidents, as did Ikea (3,668 occurrences) and Spencer Diamonds (3,485 occurrences). Last week, the jeweller did not appear in the AdEase ranking.
Among the week’s biggest movers were BCE (Bell), which climbed 15 positions to ninth in Ottawa; Rogers, which moved up 52 spots to tenth in Quebec, and CSST (Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail ), which rose 27 positions in the same city.
On the category side, the groups that moved the most were unisex apparel stores; local government; dine-in restaurants and bars; grocery stores and supermarkets; and eyewear and optical stores.
