Pluto TV is adding international and local news to its FAST service in an effort to “ensure our viewers remain updated on the most important global news, but also on what happens within their communities,” according to Katrina Kowalski, SVP, international content programming and acquisitions at Pluto TV.
Beginning next month, the streamer in Canada will carry four channels from CBC.
CBC News Explore will include in-depth stories and conversations along with daily program About That with Andrew Chang; CBC News Toronto and CBC News British Columbia will offer 24-hour local news coverage; and Radio-Canada Info will offer a lineup of newscasts, features and current affairs shows in French.
Global audiences will be served news as well. In the U.K., Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Pluto TV will offer CNN International, which will allow Pluto to offer its audiences coverage of the American presidential election.
Meanwhile, CNN Fast will be offered as a curated round-up of short-form videos covering international news, and will be available to in Canada, the U.K., Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Spain.
Finally, audiences in Canada, the U.K. and the Nordics will be able to stream Reuters for more international news.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Pluto TV’s international footprint extends across four continents and over 35 markets.
