CBC has unveiled its programming for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which will air across CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC News streaming channels, CBC Radio, CBC Music and CBC Listen on Sept. 30.
The lineup includes Indigenous-led original programming, such as Q With Tom Power (CBC Radio and CBC Listen); Commotion With Elamin Abdelmahmoud (CBC Radio and CBC Listen); The Next Chapter (CBC Radio and CBC Listen); First (CBC Gem and CBC News streaming channels); and Reclaimed Presents: ʔəm̓i ce:p xʷiwəl Come Toward the Fire (CBC Radio, CBC Music and CBC Listen).
The programming also features Bookends with Mattea Roach (CBC Radio and CBC Listen); The Knowing (pictured, CBC Gem and CBC TV); and Kupper Island (CBC Listen).
Additionally, CBC will launch the news special Remembering the Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, with live coverage of commemoration events taking place on Sep. 30, as well as a collection of other films, specials and documentaries that pay tribute to the history and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
In addition, more than 600 Bell radio stations will air A Day to Listen 2024, which will be hosted by Kim Wheeler and who will be joined by others sharing stories and interviews with Indigenous community leaders, artists, creators, elders.
