Pinterest has added two new features to its popular Collages tool – Remixing and Sharing. Since the beginning of this year, the number of Collages on Pinterest has increased by 418%. Given the feature’s popularity, Pinterest developed new tools to make it easier for Pinterest users to create collages and share them across the Internet.
With Remixing, users can build on existing collages by adding their own images, text and drawings to an existing collage. Pinterest provides the option to turn remixing on or off if users don’t want others adding to their mood board. Sharing makes it easier for users to share dynamic videos of their Collages across social platforms.
Introduced last year, Collages are a favorite among Gen Z, with 72% of daily collages created by this generation. This interactive Pin format is composed of cutouts chosen by users to visualize, plan and shop ideas. Collages ads aren’t currently shoppable in Canada and for now are being used as a mid funnel approach to drive awareness.
Pinterest will be introducing a new suite of products at its annual Advertiser Summit on October 1.
