According to AdEase’s most recent report, McDonald’s still holds the top spot in the raking of the most active radio marketers, with 7,869 total occurrences.

The report for the week of Nov. 11 to 17 showed that the QSR landed first in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, second in Ottawa, while coming in fifth in Quebec, sixth in Montreal and seventh in Toronto. The advertiser notched up 7,613 combined occurrences in the previous radio buying week.

Spence Diamonds was the second most active advertiser this week, with 5,641 occurrences, a 1,260 increase from the previous week. The retailer placed second in Vancouver and Edmonton, fourth in Calgary and Ottawa, and fifth in Toronto. Subway Restaurants and the Desjardins Group followed with 5,407 and 5,033 total occurrences, respectively. Both the QSR and the financial services company increased their spend since last week.

Some of the advertisers that moved up the list the most were The Brick Warehouse, which increased 207 places to third in Edmonton; Tim Hortons, which climbed 170 spots to tenth in Montreal; and Maxi, which finished fourth in Quebec after jumping 374 positions.

On the category front, imported SUVs climbed 49 positions to fifth place in Toronto, while it increased 44 positions in Montreal and 83 places in Quebec.
