American Idol will be available live on The Roku Channel in Canada
Roku and Fremantle have partnered to bring the next season of American Idol to The Roku Channel in Canada.
This marks the first single-territory live and simulcast deal for The Roku Channel, which will also have advertising-based video on demand exclusive rights to the series. Canadian viewers can watch for free on The Roku Channel, before it’s available for streaming on demand the next day.
“The partnership between Fremantle and Roku to showcase American Idol marks an exciting step forward in digital broadcasting,” said Michela DiMondo, EVP distribution, Canada, international. “As the show that pioneered audience-driven voting, American Idol is once again leading the way — this time, shaping how Canadian viewers will engage with their favorite programs for years to come.”
With more than 200 FAST channels, The Roku Channel also features a growing library of Roku Originals. Free, ad-supported content on The Roku Channel is only available on Roku streaming players or Roku TV Models in Canada. Freemantle produces and distributes American Idol worldwide.
Samsung TV launches Kartoon Channel

In addition to Samsung TV Plus, the Kartoon Channel is also available on Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
