The latest AdEase data shows that Tim Hortons has replaced the Government of Canada as the most active radio advertiser from Feb. 24 to March 2.

With 5,117 combined occurrences, the QSR landed first in Edmonton and third in Calgary, fifth in Vancouver and Ottawa, seventh in Quebec and ninth in Montreal. The restaurant – which did not appear in the AdEase ranking the previous radio buying week – said it has made a major media investment to launch its annual “Roll Up To Win” contest (pictured). This year’s contest includes new prize partners and a 360-degree campaign spanning radio, TV, OOH, social media and other digital platforms.

Government of Canada secured second place with 4,938 total occurrences, marking a 223-occurrence increase from the previous week. And rounding out the top five were Spence Diamonds (3,855 combined occurrences), BCE (3,782 combined occurrences) and Desjardins Group (3,582 combined occurrences). Spence and BCE boosted their spend from the previous week, while Desjardins saw a decrease.

On the category side, local government, dine-in restaurants and bars, QSRs, TV and streaming services, and internet services were the top spending groups.
