Raptors launch 3×3 tournament with Crispers

The activation is supported by QR-coded billboards that direct passersby to a new AR game.

Toronto Raptors and Crispers have announced a multi-year partnership focused on creating immersive experiences for basketball enthusiasts. Launching this collaboration, the team and the crackers brand will offer amateur players the chance to showcase their talent with an open-to-the-public, three-on-three tournament in Toronto.

The “Cold Court Classic” tournament will feature free samples of different Crispers flavours, as well as special appearances by artists and basketball players. Teams participating in the tournament will compete for a chance to win $5,000 in Mastercard gift cards, while fans attending the games will be eligible to win Raptors swag. The tournament will take place at David Crombie Park.

The tournament is accompanied by billboards with QR codes that direct passersby to a new AR game in which players can throw basketballs into a virtual net and score points for a chance to win tickets to a Raptors game.

The basketball team recently launched another AR app during “Goat Night,” a special game honouring the 25th anniversary of basketball player Vince Carter’s famous dunk. The Bell SkySlam app recreated Carter in 3D as he performed one of his best dunks and encouraged users to share it on social media for a chance to win a signed City Edition jersey or tickets to an upcoming Raptors game.

MLSE led the execution and creative.
