Perry MacDonald moves on from Bell Media
Last week in a note to all Bell Media employees, Stewart Johnston, SVP of content and sales, announced that Perry MacDonald is stepping down as VP of advertising sales and partnership. MacDonald’s last day will be March 14.
“Perry has guided the sales team through a period of rapid change and uncertainty in our industry, from an unpredictable and evolving ad market, to navigating the impacts of COVID, all with a relentless drive for revenue growth,” said Johnston. “With a strong focus on modernizing our sales tools, Perry has positioned the Bell Media sales platform as a leader in the industry. He has set us up for future success by building impactful relationships with our customers and has made a lasting impact on our team with his collaborative leadership style.”
Johnston will support MacDonald’s direct reports during the transition before a new sales structure is announced in the coming weeks.
Environics Analytics adds to its C-suite
Privacy expert Amanda Maltby is joining Environics Analytics (EA) as chief privacy officer and James P. Smith, an eight-year veteran at EA, will focus on compliance and risk at EA as chief compliance officer. These changes are effective April 14.
According to Jan Kestle, founder and president of Environics Analytics, theses appointments underscore EA’s commitment to “protecting personal privacy and having systems in place to ensure not just compliance with government regulations but also to promote best-in-class corporate risk practices.”
Maltby was most recently chief privacy officer at Canada Post. Prior to that, she held senior positions with Ipsos Public Affairs and the Canadian Marketing Association. Smith joined EA almost nine years ago to manage a variety of functions including compliance, risk management, privacy, data security, corporate governance, disaster recovery and related staff training. According to a statement from EA, under James’ leadership, EA became one of the first companies globally to be awarded the ISO Privacy by Design designation, ISO 31700.
