McDonald’s topped AdEase’s ranking as the most active TV advertiser for the week of March 10 to 16, following a significant increase in ad buy.

With 1,927 total occurrences, the QSR secured top spots in several markets, ranking first in Calgary, third in Vancouver, and fifth in Montreal. The restaurant also placed third overall with 1,787 occurrences during the past TV buying week.

Government of Canada took second place with 1,888 occurrences, representing a 215-occurrence increase from the previous week. Tim Hortons closely followed with 1,886 occurrences, up from the previous week. Rounding out the top five were Subaru with 1,816 instances (down from the previous week) and Crave TV with 1,561 (also down from the previous week).

Other advertisers that made significant gains in the ranking were Ford Motor, which saw the largest increase in positions in Vancouver and Calgary. TD Canada Trust also jumped 95 spots in Toronto, while Chevrolet climbed 108 places in Montreal.

QSRs were a top category across all cities. Meanwhile, TV and streaming services gained traction in Toronto and Montreal, whereas food delivery services saw significant activity in Calgary and Vancouver. Local government was also a prominent category in several cities.
