Clearly Canadian becomes the official sparkling water of the Blue Jays

The drinks will be sold at the Rogers Centre for opening day on March 27.

Two iconic blue Canadian brands that each enjoyed their heyday in the 1990s have inked a multi-year partnership. Clearly Canadian, which arrived back on shelves in 2017, is the official sparkling water of the Toronto Blue Jays.

As part of the partnership, Blue Jays fans will be among the first in Canada to enjoy Clearly Canadian in its new recyclable, tariff-defying SleekCans. Starting on Blue Jays’ opening day on March 27, Clearly Canadian will be available for purchase at Rogers Centre in three of the brand’s flavours: Mountain Blackberry Original, Wild Cherry Original and Sparkling Mineral Water.

Clearly will also place signage at all events held at the Rogers Centre and activate product sampling at select home games.

The company says the partnership is a natural step for the brand, which has always had a connection to baseball, taking inspiration from the sport for the design of its blue glass bottle. The deal also allows them to connect more directly with baseball fans and reconnect with Canadians in general.

“As a brand and company, we care about all things Canadian, including Canadian sports, outdoor living and nature, Canadian culture and events and sharing good thoughts, good words and good deeds that give back to our communities,” said Jennifer Blackburn, VP of marketing strategy and interim CMO of Clearly Food & Beverage Company ULC.

The partnership was handled internally.
