People Moves: Salt XC names new head of sponsorship

Full-service marketing agency Salt XC has appointed  to head up its sponsorship practice.

Virk, who will take on the role of senior director of sponsorship, brings extensive experience in partnership development, having previously served as director of brand partnerships at Live Nation, where he led the national partnerships team in Canada. Prior to Live Nation, Virk was senior manager of properties and global consulting at Wasserman and director of marketing for the Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa.

Virk’s client portfolio includes prominent sports and entertainment organizations, including Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association.


Bell Media has new brand partnerships account manager

Rebecca Miranda, who has been with Bell Media for 13 years, has been promoted to brand partnerships account manager at Bell Media Toronto.

In her new role, Miranda will develop and manage customized marketing campaigns, maximizing awareness of Bell Media Studio’s properties. According to Bell, she will responsible for creating and managing custom and integrated content opportunities across Bell Media TV, radio, digital and OOH platforms, and will collaborate with a local multi-platform sales team and internal stakeholders to devise sponsorship opportunities for clients. She will oversee sponsored partnerships with Bell Media Studios, including CP24 Breakfast (CP24), Things to Know T.O. (CP24, CTV, CTV2) and Know Your Rights (CP24).

Previously, Miranda was brand partnerships program manager at Bell Media Toronto. She joined Bell in 2011 as CTV programming assistant.


Vividata boosts its senior team with two C-level promotions

Canada’s source for insights on cross-media and consumer behaviour Vividata has announced the promotions of Tosha Kirk to chief client officer (CCO) and Masood Abid to chief financial officer (CFO).

Kirk will continue to lead Vividata’s strategic partnerships, oversee all diversified revenue categories and lead the organization’s future brand measurement, as well as client management.

She began her career in print and moved briefly into broadcasting before joining one of Vividata’s precursors, PMB, as a client service executive. According to the company, she has been instrumental in Vividata’s transition from print-focused research to full cross-media and consumer insights. She previously served as VP of client services at Vividata.

Meanwhile, Abid, who joined Vividata in 2018 as director of finance, will continue to provide strategic financial guidance, ensuring the continued financial health and stability of the organization.
