Non-partisan agency Elections Canada topped the list of most active radio advertisers for the week spanning April 7 to 13, according to the latest AdEase report.

The agency jumped into the rankings with 5,329 instances, after being absent from the prior radio buying week. It finished fourth in Ottawa, sixth in Edmonton and Montreal, eighth in Vancouver and ninth in Toronto, with an ad encouraging Canadians to vote in the upcoming federal election.

Healthcare company Novo Nordisk came in second place, increasing its spend to 5,067 occurrences, while Spence Diamonds placed third with 4,786 occurrences, down slightly from the previous week. Ford dealers (4,172 occurrences) and the Government of Quebec (4,041 occurrences) followed with increased spend. Rounding out the top five was Air Canada, with 3,192 occurrences, down 278 from the previous week.

On the category front, grocery stores and supermarkets surpassed furniture stores. The group was followed by automotive imports general, dine-in restaurants and bars, jewelry stores and TV and streaming services.
