According to the latest AdEase report, Tim Hortons topped the charts as the most active TV advertiser for the week spanning May 19 to 25.

The QSR led the list with 2,628 occurrences, driven largely by its new Oreo Mocha Iced Capp spring ad. The advertiser ranked first in Vancouver and Calgary, and second in Toronto and Montreal. The previous week, Tims’ ad featuring Ryan Reynolds promoting the Ryan’s Scrambled Eggs breakfast box racked up 2,923 occurrences, earning it the top spot in the ranking.

Toyota came in second with 2,509 occurrences, up from 1,585 the previous week. Crave TV ranked third with 2,043 occurrences, while City TV took fourth place with 1,586 occurrences, entering the AdEase ranking. McDonald’s closed out the top five with 1,138 occurrences, boosted by an ad for its spring drinks, marking an increase from the previous week.

On the category side, QSRs dominated the charts in all four cities. This group, which includes popular brands like Tims and McDonald’s, took the number one spot in each city, highlighting the competitive nature of the fast-food industry. TV and streaming services also featured prominently, ranking second or third in all four cities. Furniture stores were another category that consistently ranked high, particularly in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, where they take the second spot. This indicates a significant marketing effort from furniture retailers like Leon’s and Wayfair to reach potential customers.

Other notable categories include food delivery services, import SUVs and everyday banking, which appear in the top 10 across multiple markets.
