Upfronts 2025: Rogers sets Canadian edition of The Price Is Right

Canadians' interest in sports was also underscored, as 28 million people tuned in to sports content through Sportsnet's linear and streaming services in the past year.

Rogers Sports & Media revealed its lineup for Citytv, HGTV and Food Network’s 2025-26 season ahead of its virtual Upfront presentation on Tuesday. The programming includes a Canadian version of the popular game show The Price is Right.

During its Upfront, Rogers Sports & Media highlighted the company’s extensive reach and engagement across various demographics, noting that the broadcaster connects with 95% of Canadians aged 18 and over each month. Canadians’ interest in sports was also underscored, as 28 million people tuned in to sports content through Sportsnet’s linear and streaming services in the past year and consumed more than 168 million hours of content. Viewership growth is being driven by females and younger demographics, said the company.

The broadcaster also notedd Citytv’s viewership, with Thursdays drawing in 2.3 million viewers weekly, thanks in part to the popular Law & Order franchise, which ranks among the most-streamed shows on Citytv and Citytv+. Additionally, the success of Breakfast Television and City News was emphasized, alongside the upcoming launch of shows like On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, an unscripted competition series that will have considerable on-camera involvement from assorted brands.

Citytv

Rogers Sports & Media has tapped Canadian comedian and TV personality Howie Mandel (pictured) to host the Canadian adaptation of the popular game show The Price is Right for Citytv.

The series, currently under the working title The Price is Right Tonight, will consist of 12 one-hour episodes and is entering production in Toronto this December. More information on the project and its production team will be announced in the coming months.

The Price is Right Tonight will bring a fresh, high-energy twist to everything people love about the original – big games, lots of laughs and fun surprises,” said Mandel in a statement. “I can’t wait to say ‘come on down!’ to a whole new generation of Canadian fans.”

Also coming to Citytv in 2025-26 are new seasons for police procedurals Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent (Cameron Pictures, Lark Productions) and Hudson & Rex (Shaftesbury, Pope Productions), currently in production in Newfoundland. Law & Order Toronto, just coming off its Best Drama Series win at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards, is heading into its third season while Hudson & Rex‘s season eight is premiering this fall. Citytv’s morning show Breakfast Television will also continue for the 2025-26 season.

Reality series On Brand with Jimmy Fallon is among the new non-Canadian projects for Citytv, in which the comedian and talk-show host starts a marketing agency and fills it with the most creative, competitive and clever minds he can find. It is joined by NBC’s eight-episode series Surviving Earth, which explores lessons from ancient mass extinctions.

In live events, Rogers Sports & Media expanded on its coverage for the 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival in September, with Citytv airing a one-hour red carpet special hosted by Toronto-born Arisa Cox. Citytv will also air a Making of Wicked special hosted by the musical’s stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Returning non-Canadian series for Citytv in 2025-26 include a new season of Bachelor in Paradise, hosted by Canadian TV personality and former NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer; Steve Harvey’s Celebrity Family FeudAmerica’s Got TalentDancing with the Stars; and Destination X. The slate also features the returning animated comedies The SimpsonsBob’s BurgersUniversal Basic Guys and Krapopolis.

Citytv is also continuing with other members of the Law & Order franchise including Law & OrderLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime. The channel and its streaming service, Citytv+ will also feature the procedurals Brilliant MindsThe Hunting PartyChicago MedChicago Fire and Chicago P.D.

HGTV

The broadcaster announced seven series for HGTV, including three Canadian originals from Toronto-based Scott Brothers Entertainment.

Among those is a project starring Drew and Jonathan Scott themselves under the working title Property Brothers: Commitment Issues. Produced by their company along with Warner Bros. Discovery, the series follows the brothers as they help homeowners in the purchase of their dream homes before beginning the renovation process. Production is set for this summer and fall.

Scott Brothers Entertainment is also behind The Emily Michelle Project. In production this summer, it follows the titular interior designer as she helps people achieve their dream homes without breaking the bank.

Rounding out the Scott Brothers’ productions is the reality competition series Top of the Block. In production this summer and distributed by Cineflix Rights, the series sees homeowners in competition attempting to prove they have the best house on the block.

Next is a Canadian spin on the U.S. hit Home Town Takeover from Toronto-based RTR Media.

Home Town Takeover Canada enters production in 2026 and follows a complete small-town revitalization, transforming homes, businesses and public spaces.

RTR Media is also behind another small town-focused series called The County, which goes into production this summer. The docuseries stars Sarah Keenleyside as she builds her business and home from scratch in Prince Edward County, Ont.

Small Town Escapes with Colin & Justin rounds out the HGTV Canadian originals. From Halifax’s Ocean Entertainment and set for production this summer and fall, the three house-format follows the Scottish interior designing duo helping homeowners escape to a small town.

HGTV will also feature a new project with interior designer Sarah Richardson, which will have its details revealed in the coming months.

Food Network

A new project from Toronto’s Blink49 Studios is among the four series announced for the Food Network.

Come Dine with Me Canada  is in production this summer and is based on the format from ITV Studios. It follows five amateur chefs hosting dinner parties in their homes, trying to impress their fellow contestants.

The slate also includes David Rocco’s Eating Dirty , in post-production with his Toronto-based Rockhead Entertainment. The series follows the eponymous chef and host as he embarks on a food-fueled journey through Italy.

Andy’s East Coast Kitchen Crawl, from Toronto’s Proper Television features MasterChef Canada finalist Andy Hay as he explores the essence of east coast cooking. It goes into production this summer.

The final new project on Food Network’s slate is Bake Master Battle. In production this August, the bake-off competition confectionary masters showcasing their talents in seasonal challenges. Dina Pugliese is the series’ host, judging alongside baking expert April Julian (Is It Cake?).
