Corus Entertainment is giving The Ben Mulroney Show its own YouTube channel as it aims to continue evolving the talk radio format.
Currently, The Ben Mulroney Show is one of the top podcasts on Corus Entertainment’s Curiouscast podcast network, with nearly 1.3 million downloads since it launched in November 2024.
The show – which Corus describes as a blend of “bold conversation, sharp insight and fearless interviews” – is also syndicated on the Corus Talk Network, airing weekdays on six talk radio stations in Canada.
“The video show brings a dynamic new layer to the program experience, transforming the way audiences engage with each episode,” Chris Duncombe, Corus’s director of streaming and podcasting, said in a news release. “Now listeners can tune in to the show and catch up on great conversation as if they’re in the room with Ben.”
Starting on Monday, new video episodes will be released daily, Monday through Friday, while the audio podcast continues to be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music, among other podcast providers.
Mulroney appeared first as an entertainment reporter on CTV’s Canada AM, then as co-host of Your Morning and Etalk, and host of Canadian Idol before hosting his own eponymous talk show.
Bell Media invests in Blink49 Studios
Bell Media announced Monday that it’s investing in independent production company, Blink49 Studios, which is based in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles and has partnerships across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Founded in 2021, Blink49 Studios is a full-service indie studio focused on the development, production and distribution of scripted and unscripted television and made-for-TV movies. Bell Media and Blink49 Studios have recently partnered on docuseries Queen of the Castle, and scripted series including Late Bloomer and The Trades in addition to two newly announced projects, the upcoming reality series Blue Collar and scripted drama Yaga. Other series produced by Blink49 include drama series Wild Cards and international reality series Beast Games, among others.
The investment will see Bell Media strike, alongside Fifth Season, a production and global distribution partnership with Blink49. According to Bell, it will further enhance Blink49’s capabilities as it continues to grow its slate of scripted and unscripted content. The deal is set to close this fall, though the press release did not disclose specific figures.
“This investment is another significant step in our continued efforts to enhance the reach of Canadian creatives and deliver impactful storytelling that resonates at home and abroad,” Bell Media president Sean Cohan said in a press release.
Blink49 Studios CEO John Morayniss added: “We’re (now) well positioned to significantly expand our slate across both scripted and unscripted content, strengthen our reach in Canada and internationally.”
