The Media Innovation Awards (MIAs) have revealed the co-chairs who will lead the awards program for 2025.
This year, the jury will be led by Maja Neable (pictured left), chief marketing officer for Canada with TD, Brooke Leland (right), president of Mekanism Media.
Prior to TD, Neable led various marketing teams at BMO. Throughout her career, she has held senior roles across the U.S., Canada and Europe in a variety of industries, including technology (Microsoft and Expedia) and telecommunications (Rogers Communications and Telenor Group).
Neable led her teams to win more than 10 CMA awards including “Best of the Best” award in 2023, and two Gold Lions at Cannes Lion. She was also named as one of the Top 10 Global CMOs at 2023 Cannes Lion.
Leland was integral to the launch of Jungle Media in 2010 with inaugural client IKEA, who she guided quickly to a Best-In-Show at the Media Innovation Awards. She has been pushing her clients to innovate in the world of media, earning a reputation for her award-winning media work, partnering with such clients as Post Cereals, Coca-Cola, Nike, Toyota, Telus and Capital One.
Leland is also on the CMDC Board leading the Young Ambassador Program as well as the Cannes Young Lions program run by the Globe and Mail for the media division.
The MIAs celebrate top-tier media planning and innovation across nine categories, including two newer categories Media Agency Innovation and Media Collaboration: Best Partnering.
Neable and Leland will guide a jury comprised of senior level media agency minds and brand leaders to award the best in media execution from the past year.
The awards program also includes the annual Media Leader of the Year (MLOY) award selected by strategy‘s editorial team and recognizing top Canadian media agency leaders for accomplishments such as launching new services and unlocking business growth, to landing major client wins and developing cutting-edge data and tech tools. Nominees may also be recognized for leading professional development programs, advancing DEI initiatives or helping their agencies evolve with new roles and capabilities.
The winners will be presented with their award live at the MIAs gala in Toronto in December.
