Spotted: Astro shouts ‘Welcome, eh!’

Passengers flying into Toronto Pearson Airport are getting a uniquely Canadian greeting.

Lactalis Canada’s Astro yogurt is celebrating Canada Day and its Canadian heritage with a uniquely Canadian greeting – “Welcome, eh!” – painted on the rooftop of Astro’s plant, which is adjacent to and on the flight path of Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

The mural was painted by Kadence.World. It is part of Astro’s “So Canadian” campaign that includes limited-edition Canada Day packaging, a Canadiana-inspired social media contest and an out-of-home campaign. The rooftop mural will remain in place until later this year, or possibly even early next year.

Leading up to Canada Day, the OOH ads are now live in major cities and airports across the country and feature messages such as “So Canadian, our astrological sign is flannel.”

Creative for the campaign was handled by The Hive, with XM agency Mosaic and media by Zenith/Starcom.

Astro has been producing its available-in-Canada-only Balkan-style yogurt at its plant in Etobicoke, Ontario, since 1972.
