McDonald’s continues to dominate the advertising landscape, topping the AdEase Radio report for the week of June 23 to June 29.
The fast-food giant made 2,534 total occurrences, securing the top spot in Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto, while ranking third in Calgary and Montreal, and eighth in Vancouver and Quebec City. The chain’s strong performance can be attributed to its ads for snack-size shakes, sundaes and cones, as well as its Mighty McMuffin promotional spot. This marks the fourth consecutive week that McDonald’s has dominated the airwaves with these same ads.
Toyota took second place with 6,466 combined occurrences, promoting its Tacoma 4X4 Tactical, a significant increase from 5,693 the previous week. Spence Diamonds ranked third with 4,698 total occurrences, while Crave TV followed with 4,029, both seeing a decline in occurrences from the prior week. The Brick Warehouse rounded out the top five with 3,946 occurrences, rebounding with increased spend after missing the top 10 the week before.
On the category side, grocery stores and supermarkets, such as Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstores, led the way in cities like Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. QSRs dominated the ad landscape in multiple cities, while jewelry stores thrived in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto. TV and streaming services, including Crave TV, are also gaining momentum in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City.
