Covenant House Toronto names Mekanism Canada creative, media partner

The newly formed Plus Company agency picks up creative and media duties for the organization.

Mekanism Canada has been named creative and media partner for Covenant House, landing its first major account since launching in April.

Mekanism Canada was formed when Plus Company agency Mekanism merged Camp Jefferson and Jungle into the new entity.

Selected after a competitive RFP process, Mekanism Canada will handle strategic planning, creative development and media planning and buying for Covenant House Toronto. The remit was previously held by Taxi, the organization’s long-standing pro bono AOR.

The agency’s mandate includes strengthening Covenant House’s brand familiarity and salience through a compelling, purpose-driven campaign. Plans include building and rolling out a new brand platform and an integrated Ontario-wide campaign aimed at raising awareness and action around youth homelessness and trafficking.

A Covenant House spokesperson tells Media in Canada the new work is expected to roll out in 2026 and be reflective of “a new brand positioning that puts Covenant House’s core mission front and centre, with a sharp, emotionally resonant approach.”

Operating more than 40 years, Covenant House Toronto is Canada’s largest agency serving youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk. It has an annual operating budget of around $33 million, 80% of which comes from donors. It’s part of a network of “houses” in North America and Latin America, including one in Vancouver.
