TikTok has introduced a new ad solution that enables travel and tourism brands to connect with audiences via immersive and native content.
Travel Ads uses dynamic targeting and creative optimization to help travel brands showcase their offerings with travel-specific optimization models to identify high-intent audiences ready to book and match them with travel offerings based on their in-market activities and preferences.
This catalogue-based solution also allows advertisers to automatically promote hotels, flights and destinations with personalized creative. It leverages Smart+, a TikTok AI-driven ad platform that automates and optimizes campaigns across paid and organic content to drive specific business outcomes.
Each Travel Ad includes one or more clickable travel cards with relevant information such as hotel name and ratings, cost, flight details and discounts, and the tool is available in three formats. The single-video format can accommodate up to 10 cards which auto-slide every four seconds, while a catalogue video includes a single travel card matched to a single product item. In both cases, travel cards appear two seconds after the video ad starts playing. The carousel format pulls images from a product catalogue with background music and a single ad caption across the images, which users can swipe through.
TikTok said the new feature offers a timely and powerful way for brands to reach new audiences. According to company data, around 84% of TikTok users view travel-related content at least once a month on the app, with 66% saying that TikTok is their most useful source of travel inspiration.
