The latest report from AdEase shows that McDonald’s was the most active TV advertiser during the week of September 29 to October 5.

The QSR racked up 2,427 combined occurrences of an ad for its new McVeggie burger. It ranked first in Vancouver, third in Calgary, third in Toronto and fourth in Montreal. The restaurant also ranked first the previous week with 2,735 total occurrences.

Tim Hortons took second place with 2,102 combined occurrences of ads for its new Thanksgiving Stack and NHL Hockey Cards that leveraged the start of the hockey season. Rogers Communications placed third with 1,957 occurrences, up from last week, while A&W Restaurant claimed fourth place with 1,874 occurrences after not appearing in last week’s ranking.

Subaru Canada rounded out the top five with 1,336 occurrences, down from last week.

Other prominent advertisers were The Brick Warehouse (1,401 occurrences), Save-on-Foods (864 occurrences) and London Drugs (770 occurrences).

On the category front, QSRs dominated the ad scene in all four cities, consistently ranking as the number one category. Furniture stores was another prominent category, ranking second in three cities (Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal) and third in Toronto. Meanwhile, TV and streaming services was also a dominant category, appearing in the top five in all four cities.
