DoorDash has been named the official on-demand pick-up and delivery supporter for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and Women’s World Cup 2027 in a partnership that spans nine countries.
In its first partnership with the tournament, the delivery service says it will create local campaigns in Canada as well as the U.S., Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway and the U.K. under its respective brands in each region: DoorDash (Canada, U.S.), Deliveroo (U.K., France, Italy) and Wolt (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany).
Digital activations, fan experiences and community-driven experiences designed to “celebrate the global spirit of football” are in the works, the company says. DoorDash tells Media in Canada that more details will become available as the tournament draws closer, adding that fans can expect “fun surprises, fresh collaborations and new ways to experience the World Cup, whether they’re watching from home or cheering from the stands.”
In the U.S., the brand will also serve as the official restaurant reservations platform supporter for the tournaments through a new in-app restaurant reservations launch, allowing fans in select cities to discover and book tables at local spots where they can come together to watch matches.
Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has signed on to kick off the partnership with a digital campaign.
Last month, DoorDash Canada launched a new platform to promote women’s pro sports – including Northern Super League soccer – through a dedicated network of restaurants, and supported the initiative with a national multi-channel campaign.
