London-headquartered Parade Media and Australia’s Abode Entertainment have partnered with Bell Media’s CTV Life Channel to produce the new property series Country House Hunters Canada.
The 20-episode, 30-minute series is based on the Australian series Country House Hunters, which is produced by Abode and was just renewed for a fourth season on Nine Australia.
The Canadian version for CTV Life premieres Aug. 7 and is hosted by interior designer Amanda Aerin, who will help couples as they whittle their choice of three houses down to one as they try to find the perfect country home.
“This format has been a success internationally, including on our network, and we are confident episodes will be a welcome addition for our Canadian audiences,” said Parade CEO Matthew Ashcroft in a statement. “With the success of the series on Nine and international tape sales to date, the series is set to travel as an original format internationally.”
Abode’s other property series include Million Dollar House Hunters (Direct TV USA), Find Me A Beach House (Foxtel), Find Your Dream Home (Foxtel) and Luxury Homes Revealed (Nine).
Country House Hunters Canada will air on Mondays, following new series Staying Inn: Hotel Julie, which follows creative director Autumn Hachey and interior designer Jillian Smith-Moher revamping a 19th century inn into a luxury boutique hotel in Stratford, Ont.
