The usual order of things is that one checks The Weather Network before heading outside. Now, The Weather Network is launching a new FAST streaming channel that viewers can watch instead of going outside altogether. TWN Elements, available on Roku and Tubi, provides users with the opportunity to escape with a curated selection of extended outdoor and adventure programming.
Although under the Weather Network banner, TWN Elements will forego forecasts and live weather tracking in favour of storytelling and compelling filmmaking for outdoor enthusiasts when they are indoors. “When we launched our first streaming channel, we experimented with the content lineup to gauge what niches created the most engagement from our audiences,” Hashim Mikael, senior platform & product manager, global TV apps & FAST channels, tells MiC. “We found outdoor adventure and lifestyle programming content was of most interest and inspired us to create TWN Elements.”
The channel will not only feature long-form shows and popular online creators and personalities, but include ASMR and Slow TV as well. According to a Mikael, Interested clients can sponsor programming on the channel, which is embedded within the programming wheel during airtimes. These range from lower third fly ups and float ins, to L Frame take over packages.
The channel has released a taste of the programming viewers, and advertisers, can expect:
