Pluto TV launches channel with exclusive content about Real Madrid

The FAST platform has recently added other sports channels to the service in Canada, including Dazn TV.

Pluto TV has launched an exclusive channel for content about the Real Madrid soccer club in Canada.

Realmadrid TV is available from this week on the FAST service within the Sports category. It offers content around the club, including the latest news; interviews with players, coaches and staff members; behind-the-scenes; and training sessions. Viewers will also be able to watch expert analysis, documentaries exploring the club’s history, player profiles, as well as classic matches and replays.

Paramount Global SVP of streaming and content licensing in Canada Doug Smith tells MiC that Pluto launched the channel as it’s a good opportunity to appeal to a wide audience interested in sports, a category with high demand. “Real Madrid is arguably the most popular soccer club globally and it’s a wonderful opportunity to feed their fans and soccer enthusiasts with exclusive content,” he says.

For his part, Paramount Global president of international markets, advertising sales, Lee Sears says the channel gives Canadian marketers the opportunity to position their brand alongside one of the biggest, global sporting brands. “The channel offers all ad formats from five-second bumpers to sixty-second ads. Sponsorships are also available,” he adds. “All advertising is available on a direct and programmatic offering, automatically matching content with impressions and premium service campaign development. Pluto TV offers non-skippable ads with the power of targeting.”

According to Sears, the platform is now focused on expanding its Sports category in Canada, and is open to additional sports channel opportunities.

In addition to Realmadrid TV, other recent sports channel additions to the service in Canada include Dazn TV and Monster Jam.

Pluto also launched this week a section dedicated to the iconic animated franchise South Park. The section offers seven thematic channels, including one in French. All are centered on specific characters from the series and include different episodes, separated into different themes. The company also announced last week that Hindi channel DesiPlay TV is now broadcast in Canada. It is the first Hindi channel on the platform.
