People Moves: Pelmorex promotes Maureen Rogers

And Quebecor appoints a new general manager for its sales arm.

Pelmorex Corp has appointed Maureen Rogers as its new president and CEO, effective Feb 1.

Rogers, who succeeds Nana Banerjee, will focus on accelerating Pelmorex’s strategic initiatives and further expanding its market presence.

With more than 30 years of experience in media, technology and finance – including 13 years at Pelmorex – Rogers has held several senior leadership positions, including CEO of Pelmorex’s TV Networks and managing director of Weather Canada, which includes the digital and TV brands The Weather Network and MétéoMédia, as well as Alert Ready/En Alerte, Canada’s public emergency alerting system. Previously, she was VP and general manager of Citytv.

Quebecor appoints new general manager for its ad sales arm

Quebecor has named Hugo Dallaire (pictured) as the general manager of its advertising sales division, Quebecor Expertise Media.

In his new role, Dallaire will oversee and support Quebecor Expertise Media’s multi-platform sales teams in the company’s ongoing digital transformation, which will be accelerated in the coming months.

“As the Canadian media group with the largest digital reach among French speakers in Quebec, we have started several projects in recent years to increase our online video inventory, thereby adding to our incredible linear inventory offer,” Dallaire tells MiC. “This year, we will accelerate the transformation by increasing the possibilities on our Helix app as well as on Helix set-top boxes. We are also working on launching digital video-on-demand advertising on Illico+, and of course, addressable TV will be one of our pillars in the coming months.”

In parallel, he says they will continue to work closely with Optable to offer effective targeting across the company’s ecosystem.

Dallaire joined Quebecor in 2019 as senior director, client solutions and programmatic. In that role, he focused on driving programmatic sales, with a background in multi-platform sales and a reputation for creating strategic alliances with clients in both Montreal and Toronto. Prior to Quebecor, he worked at French-language online newspaper La Presse as strategic alliance and programmatic development director, and was senior account manager at programmatic ad exchange District M, which merged with exchange company Sharethrough in 2021.
